PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. - Trinity Christian College head women’s soccer coach Josh Lenarz reached a coaching milestone as he recorded his 100th career win. The landmark victory came on October 18 in a
1-0 conference win over Robert Morris College (Chicago, Illinois) in front of a home crowd on Alumni Day.
The victory was just one of a string of victories in Trinity’s undefeated 15-0 season. It also marks a school record for most wins in a regular season, surpassing the Trolls’ 14 regular season wins in each of the past three years.
“I am excited to reach this milestone,” said Lenarz. “At the beginning of the season I knew that, with the team I had, it was a realistic possibility that it would happen this year. For it to occur in the first 15 games is a special bonus.”
Lenarz is currently in his seventh season as the head coach of the women’s soccer program at Trinity. During its formative years as a varsity program the Trolls posted a 19-72-2 overall record in its first six seasons. Since Lenarz took over the program in 2002 the team has an 85-48-6 overall record.
During the past six seasons Lenarz has led Trinity to the conference tournament each year, the NAIA region finals for the past three seasons, and two NCCAA national championship tournaments, including a national tournament title in 2005.
For the 2008 season the Trolls are currently ranked No. 11 in the NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. They have a perfect 15-0 overall record and are leading the conference standings at 7-0. They lead the nation in shut-outs with 13 and in goals allowed with two. They also have scored a total of 90 goals, ranking second in the nation in goal average.
