Shannon Walter of Martin Methodist College (Tenn.) was selected as NAIA Women's Soccer National Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 29, 2006.
Walter, a freshman midfielder from Chicago, IL, moved into second place all-time at MMC for assists in a season with 20. Her 20th assist was a corner kick for the game-winning goal, headed by Victoria Charnley, in double overtime of the TranSouth Athletic Conference Tournament Championship over Bethel. It was MMC's third-consecutive TSAC Championship. She was also named TSAC Freshman of the Year this week.
