HATTIESBURG, Miss. — The University of Mobile women’s soccer team handed 13th-ranked William Carey their 1st conference loss of the season by taking a 4-0 victory on the road Wednesday evening.
The Lady Crusaders took a 4-2 decision at Mobile earlier in the season, but the Lady Rams got their revenge, despite getting out shot 18-8.
Aislinn Finfrock opened the scoring just 4 minutes into the game when she took a feed from Emma Murphy at the corner of the 18-yard box and went top shelf. Bekah Grippa then added a goal when she poked home a deep ball from Louise Arseneault that beat the goalkeeper.
Danielle Byrd added a second-half goal by heading home a corner kick from Ashley Lachappelle, and then Terri McCreadie finished the scoring in the 80th minute with Finfrock picking up the assist. Anna Maddox had 6 saves in goal to pick up the win for Mobile while collecting her 5th shutout.
Mobile (6-6-4, 3-2-2) finishes out the regular season at home Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7 pm versus Belhaven College. The win locks Mobile into the No. 2 seed for next week's GCAC Tournament.
