KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) is proud to partner with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Fla.) to present the 24th Annual NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship held at Embry-Riddle Soccer Stadium in Daytona Beach, Fla. November 14-20, 2007. Over 500 student-athletes and coaches from the United States and Canada will travel to play in the 20-team single elimination tournament with the national championship title awarded on November 20 at 6 p.m. (CT).
"Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has proven to be an outstanding host for NAIA national championship events. The entire tournament staff is dedicated to the championship experience offering a great environment for all competitors," said NAIA women's soccer championship administrator Becki Almeida. "The weeklong event will showcase the top talent in NAIA women's soccer. Surrounding festivities planned are designed to further enhance the overall experience and promote character-driven intercollegiate athletics."
The national championship gets underway at the opening banquet on Tuesday, November 13 at Embry-Riddle beginning at 5 p.m. (CT). During the event the NAIA will present a Champions of Character award to one player on each participating team.
Game day action kicks-off on Wednesday, November 14 at 10 a.m. (CT). Embry-Riddle Aeronautical receives an automatic berth in the tournament as host of the event. Other institutions already clinching a spot in the tournament bracket include: Carroll (Mont.), Morningside (Iowa), Kansas Wesleyan, Saint Xavier (Ill.), Cornerstone (Mich.), Houghton (N.Y.), SUNY Canton, King (Tenn.) and Lee (Tenn.). The complete tournament bracket and pairings will be released Thursday, November 8th on www.naia.org.
The entire tournament will be video streamed live via the Internet on JumpTV Sports, formerly XOS Technologies. Fans interested in purchasing the entire tournament or single games may do so by visiting www.naiasoccer.org. Tickets to the tournament are $8 for adults and $4 for students per day and children under the age of five are admitted for free.
