OLATHE, Kan. - Azusa Pacific University (Calif.) wasted no time in setting the pace of the game, scoring in the 10th minute off a Jolie Nitta deflection, en route to a 3-0 victory against Indiana Wesleyan University in the second round of the 2005 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship. All games are being at the College Boulevard Activity Center in Olathe, Kan.
APU added two more goals in the first half for a 3-0 lead at intermission. Randi Massro sunk a header off a Megan Cardin corner kick in the 21st minute and Bridgette Brotherton score at the 35:22 mark off a pass from Massro. APU sophomore Jill Colfer recorded two saves in her 14th shut out of the season.
No. 14 Indiana Wesleyan (19-2-1) won its first-round game against host Park University (Calif.) 4-0 to advance to today's match up. Roxanne Rudrick recorded six saves and gave up the three goals in her final game for the Wildcats.
Azusa Pacific advances to Saturday's quarterfinal round to face the winner of the #6 Simon Fraser University (B.C.)/#11 William Jewell College (Mo.). Game time is set for 5 p.m. (CST).
