Daytona Beach, Fla. – Azusa Pacific (Calif.) has advanced to the Quarterfinals of the 25th Annual NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship after defeating in-state rival Cal State San Marcos 3-0.

 

Azusa Pacific didn’t waste any time, scoring less than 10 minutes into the match on a Sarah Yoro goal.  Yoro netted another goal in the 30th minute, giving her team a 2-0 lead.  Theresa Broad put the game away with a goal in the 85th minute.

 

Azusa Pacific improves to 19-2 on the year while Cal State San Marcos ends the season at 13-4-4.

 

The Cougars will play again at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3 against No. 5 Concordia (Ore.).  Concordia defeated Berry (Ga.) 2-1 in double overtime earlier in the day.
