Daytona Beach, Fla. – Day two at the NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship final site began with No. 8 seed Graceland (Iowa) battling ninth-seeded Northwood (Fla.). 

Undefeated Graceland got on the scoreboard early when Karina Vega was able to convert on a penalty shot less than three minutes into the game.  The Yellowjackets extended their lead to 2-0 when sophomore forward Chelsea Phillips netted a goal in the 11^th minute.  They would take that lead into halftime.

Northwood cut the lead in half less than five minutes into the second half when Katya Salguero scored on a pass from Lisa Ohberg.  Although both teams would have opportunities, neither team was able to score again.  In a very evenly matched contest, Graceland was able to come away with a 2-1 victory.

Graceland improves to 19-0-2 on the year while Northwood ends the season at 17-3.

The Yellowjackets advance to the Quarterfinals and will take on top seed Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) at 4:30 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
