DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – (updated bracket) Quarterfinal action is complete and only four teams remain in the 2008 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship. The Championship, hosted by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, will continue Friday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m. (EST). All games are played at the Embry-Riddle Soccer Stadium with the final scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. (EST).

QUARTERFINAL RECAP:
Wednesday, Dec. 3
Game #9: No. 5 Concordia (Ore.) 2, No. 4 Azusa Pacific (Calif.) 1 (OT)
The Quarterfinal Round began with fourth-seeded Azusa Pacific (Calif.) taking on undefeated Concordia (Ore.) in an 11 a.m. kick off.
Senior midfielder Justine Pronovost got Concordia on the board first with a goal in the 38th minute. The Cavaliers would take that 1-0 lead into halftime.
It was an exciting second half as both teams had multiple shots that either hit the cross bar or that were just wide of the net. Azusa Pacific senior forward Bridget Brotherton tied the game at 1-1 with a goal in the 86th minute. Neither team would score again in regulation, sending the game to overtime.
The Cavaliers won in the extra period as Justine Pronovost netted her second goal of the game in the 91st minute.
Concordia improves to 22-0-1 on the year while Azusa Pacific ends their season at 19-3.
The Cavaliers advance to the Semifinals and will play the winner of Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) and Graceland (Iowa) at 5 p.m. (EST) on Friday Dec. 5.
Game #10: No. 3 Lee (Tenn.) 1, No. 6 Martin Methodist (Tenn.) 1 (2OT) (Lee advances on PK’s 4-2)
The second game of the Quarterfinal Round featured two teams from Tennessee as No. 3 seed Lee took on defending national champion Martin Methodist.
The first half was a defensive battle and the teams were locked in a scoreless halftime tie.
In the second half, both teams would have opportunities but neither could put the ball in the net until Lee junior Christiane Christensen scored in the 81st minute, giving the Lady Flames a 1-0 lead. Martin Methodist answered right back a few minutes later on a goal from freshman Nicole O’Donnell, tying the score at 1-1. Neither team would score again in regulation, sending the game to overtime.
After scoreless overtime and double overtime periods, the game moved to a penalty kick shootout. Lee won the shootout 4-2, getting goals from Christiane Christensen, Linn Christensen, Jenna Achten and Marina Lima. Martin Methodist had beaten the Lady Flames in the tournament three years in a row.
Lee moves to 22-1-1 on the year while Martin Methodist ends their season at 20-1-1.
The Lady Flames advance to the Semifinals and will play the winner of Trinity Christian (Ill.) and William Carey at 7 p.m. (EST) on Friday Dec. 5.
Game #11: No. 1 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) 1, No. 8 Graceland (Iowa) 0
Game three of the Quarterfinals saw the top seeded Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) Blue Raiders and undefeated Graceland (Iowa) Yellowjackets battle to determine who would move on to the Semifinal Round.
Neither team was able to score in the first half and went into halftime with zeroes on the scoreboard.
It was more of the same in the second half until Lindsey Wilson sophomore forward Kimmia Parker connected on a penalty shot in the 77th minute, giving the Blue Raiders a 1-0 lead. That would prove to be the final score as Lindsey Wilson handed Graceland their first loss of the year.
Lindsey Wilson improves to 21-1 on the year while Graceland ends their season at 19-1-2.
The Blue Raiders advance to the Semifinals and will play Concordia (Ore.) at 5 p.m. (EST) on Friday, Dec. 5.
Game #12: No. 10 Trinity Christian (Ill.) 2, No. 15 William Carey (Miss.) 1
The fourth Quarterfinal match featured No. 10 seed Trinity Christian (Ill.) going up against fifteenth-seeded William Carey (Miss.) to decide who would fill the final Semifinal spot.
Trinity Christian got on the scoreboard early when Mindi Prins scored to give the Trolls a 1-0 lead. They were able to stretch the lead to 2-0 when Errika Comerouski scored on a corner kick from Meagan Scartozzi in the 37th minute. That would be the halftime score.
William Carey cut the lead in half on a goal from Natalia Nino in the 51st minute. Although neither team would score again, it was a thrilling second half that kept many of the fans on their feet the whole time. In the end, Trinity Christian held on to win 2-1.
Trinity Christian improves to 23-1 on the year while William Carey ends their season at 16-4-1.
The Trolls advance to the Semifinals and will play Lee (Tenn.) at 7 p.m. (EST) on Friday, Dec. 5.
