NAIA Softball Rating No. 8

Despite grabbing its first top vote since March 28, Oklahoma City remained No. 2 in the final NAIA Softball Top 25 Coaches Poll of the 2007 season.

May 9, 2007

OLATHE, Kan. - Oklahoma City managed to take away one first-place vote from California Baptist, but for the eighth-consecutive week and the ninth time overall including the 2007 preseason rating, the Lancers remained atop the NAIA Softball Top 25 Coaches Poll in its final week of the 2007 season.

Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) broke out of a tie at third with Simon Fraser (B.C.), who dropped a spot to No. 4 this week, while Trevecca Nazarene remained in place at No. 5 in the season's final poll. Houston Baptist (Texas) also cracked a tie this week, claiming the sixth spot while Lee (Tenn.) moved down a notch to No. 7. Vanguard (Calif.), Shorter (Ga.) and St. Gregory's (Okla.) remained in place to round out the Top 10.

The week's largest move belonged to Bellevue (Neb.), who jumped up three spots to No. 11, while McKendree (Ill.) rejoined the Top 25 as the only unranked team from a week ago to enter the poll, moving in at No. 24.
