DECATUR, Ala. - Lubbock Christian (Texas) and Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) from Pool D advanced to the to the eight-team double elimination bracket at the 28th Annual NAIA Softball National Championship.

Lubbock Christian cruised through the pool play with two more wins on Saturday to post 4-0 record.  The Lady Chaps defeated Trevecca Nazarene, 7-3, in 10 innings and Olivet Nazarene, 7-1.  Marissa Gonzalez pitched all 10 inning against TNU and picked up her third victory in the pool play.  Kelly Griego was the star against Olivet Nazarene.  She batted 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI at the plate.  Griego also pitched seven innings and struck out seven batters for the win.

Trevecca Nazarene advanced to the bracket play with 3-1 record.  After winning both games on Friday, the Trojans split their game on Saturday.  TNU fell to Lubbock Christian before defeating Friends (Kan.), 6-1.  Kacey Coonce and Sammy Simon both drove in two runs against Friends.

Olivet Nazarene closed out the day with 5-4 win over College of Idaho to finish 2-2 in pool play.

Bracket play will start on Monday, May 19 and will end with the championship game on Wednesday, May 21.  Trevecca Nazarene will take California Baptist at 10 a.m. and Lubbock Christian will face Dickinson State (N.D.) at 12:30 p.m.
