Bethel (Ind.) College defeats Shorter College 5-1

at the 2007 NAIA Softball National Championship

                                                                                             

DECATUR, Ala. - Britny Beneker and Corinne Dennison each hit home runs as Bethel (Ind.) College defeated Shorter College 5-1 in Pool C at the 2007 NAIA Softball National Championship Saturday (May 19) evening at Wilson Morgan Park.

 

The 21^st-ranked Pilots ended their season at 45-10 while the No. 9 Hawks fell to 44-12.

 

Beneker hit a two-run homer in the third to give the Pilots a 4-1 lead before Dennison added her leadoff homer to right field in the fourth.

 

Somer Stilley (21-4) pick up the win for Bethel while Elisabeth Barber (19-5) suffered the loss for Shorter.
