DECATUR, Ala. - Lubbock Christian (Texas) advanced in the winner's bracket with a 9-0 win over Dickinson State (N.D.) in six innings at the 2008 NAIA Softball National Championship double elimination bracket.

Raquel Hawkins led the Lady Chaparrals' offense going 2-for-2 and five RBI.  Kelly Greigo added three RBI while Lisa Stratton scored twice for LCU.  Marissa Gonzalez struck out seven batters for the win.

Lubbock Christian scored four times in the third inning on four hits including a two-run homerun by Greigo.  Jade Espinoza and Sabrina Hernandez both crossed the home plate in fourth inning on sacrifice fly's to make it 6-0.  LCU added a run in fifth when Jessica Latson scored on a sacrifice fly and two more in the sixth on Hawkins double to deep left to round out the scoring.

Lubbock Christian will take on the winner of St. Gregory's (Okla.) versus Simon Fraser (B.C.) in the winner's bracket while Dickinson State will face the loser in the loser's bracket.  Both games are schedule for 5:30 p.m. (CST).
