RESULTS (THROUGH 14 EVENTS) | REAL TIME RESULTS

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - With the first full day of the 2007 NAIA Men's & Women's Swimming and Diving Championships complete, with California Baptist University leading the team standings in both the men's and the women's competition.

On the women's side, the Lancers scored 225 points and are 27 points ahead of Simon Fraser (B.C.), who scored 198 team points through the first 14 events. Savannah Art & Design (Ga.) and Illinois Tech remain as the only other schools to top 100 in women's competition, as SCAC came up with 143 points and IIT grabbed 114.

In the men's championship, which is also through 14 events, Cal Baptist holds a 97.5-point lead, scoring 313.5 with the nearest competitor, Lindenwood (Mo.) sitting at 216. Illinois Tech follows with 141, while Simon Fraser (122) and SCAD (112) follow in the men's team standings.

In the Women's 500-Yard Freestyle, Simon Fraser's Kathryn Rosberg set an NAIA record in the event with a time of 4:58:85, while in the Men's 50 Freestyle, Cal Baptist's Russell Thompson swam a preliminary record time of 19.9.

Cal Baptist added to its lead in the 800-Yard Freestyle Relay, as Thompson and Jeff Heinz, both seniors, teamed with a pair of underclassmen - Alan Ogden and Brad Terwilliger - for a time of 6:48:53 to win the event.

SCAD's Cassie Dixon won the Women's 50 Freestyle with a time of 23:44, beating out Jenelle Furuto of Cal Baptist and a pair of Simon Fraser competitors in the top four.

On the day, California Baptist picked up five total team and relay titles between the men's and women's events, while Simon Fraser, despite finishing second in the team standings in both competitions, combined to win six events on the day.

In Wednesday's events, which were limited to the diving area only, Illinois Tech freshman Brandon Toro nearly edged out Cal Baptist's Ben Wahlman, coming up with the top preliminary dive but finishing second in the finals to Wahlman.

Competition continues Friday in San Antonio, with the day's first event set to get underway at 10:00 a.m. at the Palo Alto Natatorium in San Antonio, Texas.
