SAN ANTONIO, Texas - California Baptist remains atop the men's and women's standings after the second full day of competition in the 2007 NAIA Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Palo Alto Natatorium in San Antonio, Texas.

Cal Baptist leads Simon Fraser (B.C.) in the women's standings with a team total of 533.5, while in the men's race for the title, the Lancers have built a sizeable lead over second-place Lindenwood (Mo.) with a team score of 652.5.

Simon Fraser, despite falling back to fourth in the men's standings, swept the men's and women's 400 Medley Relay and had a diving champion, as Laura Sherer won the Women's 3-Meter Dive, beating out Julia Northrup of Illinois Tech.

A day after two records fell in the water on the first full day of competition, one record fell three times today, as in the Men's 100-Yard Butterfly, all three of the top three finishers broke the event's meet record, and Cal Baptist's Jan Trichy won the event with a time of 48.40.

Trichy added to his resume a few events later, winning the Men's 100 Backstroke by 0.51 seconds over Lindenwood's Thomas Bourdin. In the Men's 100 Breaststroke, Thomas Gibson brought points to Savannah College of Art & Design (Ga.) by winning the event with a time of 56.14, which was only 0.10 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher from SFU.

Addie Kolybaba won the Women's 100-yard Backstroke, capturing the title with a time of 57.86, which was just ahead of Cal Baptist's Nicole Shipman who finished in 57.94.

The championship continues and concludes Saturday in San Antonio, and fans can follow event-by-event results online through HyTek Real-Time Results at www.naia.org.
