After 18 seasons, and a career record of 466-159 (.746), Dave Moody has resigned as Head Volleyball Coach at Dickinson State University.

"We appreciate and admire Dave's commitment to the volleyball program at Dickinson State University," said DSU's Athletic Director, Roger Ternes. "We wish him the best as he moves forward in his professional career."

The Blue Hawks were 30-4 in 2007, ended the year ranked #7 by the NAIA and posted a 14-0 Dakota Athletic Conference mark--their third straight undefeated conference season and their 11th during Moody's tenure. Since 1995, DSU has enjoyed a remarkable 150-3 (.980) record in DAC play and recorded 91 consecutive match wins between 1996 and 2004.

Moody led the Hawks to 12 regular season conference titles, 11 conference tournament championships and 12 region appearances. He also led DSU to eight national tournament appearances and won the 2000 NAIA National Championship with a Blue Hawk team that went 39-1. Moody was named the NAIA's National Tournament Coach of the Year and DSU's top player, All-American Neslihan Yilmaz was named Player of the Year. In total, Moody coached 21 All-Americans.

Moody will remain at DSU and continue to teach classes in the Department of Health and Physical Education. He cited his family as the prime reason for his resignation, stating, "I want to leave the legacy of being a father who places the pride of parenting above the professional rewards of coaching a winning volleyball program."

A national search for his replacement will begin immediately.
