National Volleyball Player, Setter, Libero of the Week :: Warkentin, Liu and Reese earn honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Meghan Warkentin of Biola (Calif.), Shu Liu of Fresno Pacific (Calif.) and Malinda Reese of Westmont (Calif.) have been selected as the NAIA Volleyball Player, Setter and Libero of the Week respectively for the week ending Sunday, September 2, 2007.

Warkentin, a junior outside hitter from Visalia, Calif., helped the Eagles to four victories at the Concordia Labor Day Festival. She averaged 5.64 kills during the week. Warkentin had a season-high 28 kills in a 3-2 win over No. 6 Albertson on Friday and recorded 16 kills against No. 23 Great Falls (Mont.) and 18 kills against No. 25 Westminster (Utah) on Saturday.

Liu, a junior setter from Shen Yang, China, averaged 13.67 assists in four matches for Fresno Pacific. She helped the Sunbirds to four victories during the week including three against top-25 teams. Liu recorded 69 assists against No. 25 Westminster (Utah) on Sept. 1st.

Reese, a senior libero from San Carlos, Calif., averaged 8.8 digs in four matches for Westmont last week. She tied the school record with 44 digs in a match against Olivet Nazarene on Aug. 31st and then broke the record with 55 digs against Doane (Neb.) on Sept. 1st.
