NAIA Volleyball National Player, Libero and Setter of the Week



Beheler had a career match against Campbellsville University last week.

Shena Beheler of Mount Vernon Nazarene University (Ohio), Traci Kooima of Dordt College (Iowa), and Jillian Barry of Walsh University (Ohio) have been selected  as NAIA National Volleyball Player, Libero, and Setter of the Week, for the week ending Sunday, October 15th, 2006.

 

Beheler, a junior middle-hitter from Butler, Ohio, was named to the Papa John's Invitational All-Tournament Team as MVNU finished in second place. She had a career-high 30 kills, only two shy of the school record, in the loss to Campbellsville in the championship match. She moved into fifth place in school history in career kills (1,824) and third place in career blocks (658). She is also closing in on the 1,000-dig mark with 955 currently.

 

Kooima, a senior libero from Rock Valley, Iowa, started the week with 48 digs in an upset match win over #24 Wayne State College. She ended the week averaging 8.92 digs a match.

 

 

 

 

 

Barry, a junior setter from Salem, Ohio, averaged 15.78 assists/game in wins over Ohio Dominican University, #12 Cedarville University, and Tiffin University. She also averaged 2.56 digs/game for the #23 Walsh University Cavaliers.
