Kelsey Wirt of Vanguard College, Jenna Richardson of Campbellsville University, and Rachel Salvo of Friends University have been selected as NAIA National Player, Setter, and Libero of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 22, 2006.
Wirt, a freshman outside hitter from Fair Oaks, California, recorded a career-high 30 kills in a 3-2 upset win over #12 Azusa Pacific University. She also had 21 kills in a 3-2 win against #3 ranked California Baptist University. Wirt had 51 kills and 50 digs on the week.
Richardson, a senior setter from Mt. Carmel, Illinois, helped the Lady Tigers to a 5-1 record on the week, including a 3-1 win over #23 Olivet Nazarene University. She averaged 12.39 assists/game this week, while also surpassing the 4500 assists mark for her career at Campbellsville University.
Salvo, a senior libero from Council Bluffs, Iowa, had over 50 digs on the week. In wins over Southwestern (3-0) and Central Christian (3-0), she averaged 9.50 digs/game, while only commiting 3 passing errors.
