Verania Willis of California Baptist University, Gabriela Carvalho of Park Univeristy (Mo.) and Amy Barmore of Georgetown (Ky.) have been selected as the NAIA Volleyball National Player, Setter and Libero of the week, for the week ending Sunday, October 29, 2006.
Willis, a junior outside hitter from Sane Jose, Costa Rica, helped end California Baptist's 2-match losing streak with 20 kills and a .472 hitting percentage against The Master's. Willis also tied a school record with 34 kills and hit .426 as the Lancers upset No. 2 Fresno Pacific in 5 games.
Carvalho, a junior setter from Sao Paulo, Brazil, helped Park to a 5-0 record for the week. She averaged 14.29 assists/game on the week, and also averaged 5.35 digs/game in the 5 wins.
Barmore, a freshman setter/libero from Louisville, Kentucky, helped Georgetown to a 5-0 record on the week. She recorded 98 digs in 18 games for an average of 5.44/game. Georgetown is 27-12 on the season.
