COLUMBIA, Mo. - Top seed Biola won its match while Campbellsville knocked off the host, No. 7 Columbia (Mo.) on the opening day at the 28th Annual NAIA Volleyball National Championship.
No. 4 Biola (Calif.) defeated Mobile (Ala.) in three games (30-23, 30-16, 30-23). Campbellsville (Ky.) had the biggest upset of day as the Lady Tigers defeated Columbia, 30-28, 30-25, 26-30, 30-25.
Biola Lady Eagles were led by Meghan Warkentin who recorded a match high 16 kills. Christina Perkins assisted on 21 kills while Abbie Wright recorded 13 assists for Biola.
Campbellsville had two played in double figures in kills led by Misty Tarbet (18). Teresa Masava added 12 kills while Brittney McKee recorded 35 assists.
Columbia's Maria Omondi had a team-high 13 kills.
