COLUMBIA, Mo. - The top two teams from Pool E advanced to the championship bracket at the 28th Annual NAIA Volleyball National Championship.
The defending national Champion, No. 5 National American (S.D.) won all its matches in pool play and posted a 3-0 record. The Mavericks defeated Savannah Art & Design (30-21, 30-28, 28-30, 30-28) and Lindenwood (Mo.) (30-18, 24-30, 30-18, 3015) on Thursday to clinch a spot in the quarterfinals. National American will play at 1 p.m. on Friday in the first quarterfinal match. Daniela Oliveira and Tais Batistella each had 18 kills against SCAD. Oliveira also recorded a double-double with 16 kills and 15 digs against Lindenwood.
Lindenwood finished the pool play with 2-1 record and will also advance to the quarterfinals. The Lady Lions will take on Concordia (Calif.) in the fourth quarterfinal match at 8:30 p.m. Lindenwood defeated Bellevue before falling to National American on Thursday. Krista Yoder, Erika Kliokmanaite and Sarah Gildehaus all reached double digits in kills with 13,12 and 10 respectively against Bellevue.
Savannah Art & Design (Ga.) went 1-2 in the pool play with lone win coming against Bellevue in five games (30-23, 32-30, 25-30, 29-31, 18-16) on Thursday. The Bees will end their season with 24-12 overall record.
Bellevue posted 0-3 pool play record and dropped to 27-14 on the season.
