California Baptist Advances to Semifinals at 2007 NAIA Volleyball National Championship

COLUMBIA, Mo. - No. 2 California Baptist cruised to a 3-0 (30-24, 30-14 and 30-19) win over Northwestern (Iowa) in the third quarterfinal match and advanced to the semifinals for the fourth consecutive season.  The Lancers will face the winner of the fourth quarterfinal match at noon on Saturday.

Three players reached double figures in kills for California Baptist led by Fei Shi with 19 kills.  Yudelka Bonilla had 17 and Vernaia Willis added 15 kills.  Kayla Van Duyn recorded 50 assists and Katrina Clark led the team with 17 digs.  Bonilla also added nine digs.  The Lancers improved their overall record to 31-4 on the season.

Northwestern's Megan Meyer had a team-high 12 kills while Janna Bloemendaal recorded a team best 15 digs.  Rachel Gosselink finished the match with 22 assists.  The Red Raiders will end their season with a 30-11 overall record.
