2008 NAIA Volleyball National Championship - Pool Play

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Top seeded Fresno Pacific (Calif.) cruised to a three game victory over Black Hills State (S.D.) while Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) knocked off No. 12 Morningside (Iowa), 3-1, at the NAIA Volleyball National Championship Pool Play.

 

Fresno Pacific won 25-16, 25-13, 25-14.  Five players recorded seven or more kills led by Lisa Shilling, Thais Julio and Keke Wang with nine each.  Fabiana Leomil and Brittany Pierce added seven kills each.  Maggie O’Neil led BHSU with nine kills and 11 digs.

 

PLNU dropped the first game 21-25 before winning three straight, 25-14, 25-13, 25-22.  Tabitha Henken led Point Loma Nazarene with 13 kills while Melissa Boer added 12.  Jillian Doornbos led the defense with 20 digs.  Amber Jarzynka and Catie Bobier recorded 10 kills each for Morningside (Iowa).
