SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Day two of the pool play completed at the 2008 NAIA Volleyball National Championship and eight teams improved their pool play record to 2-0.
Azusa Pacific (Calif.), Biola (Calif.), California Baptist, Columbia (Mo.), Concordia (Calif.), Fresno Pacific (Calif.), Georgetown (Ky.) and Northwestern (Iowa) all won their matches to improve their pool play record to 2-0 and clinched a spot in the single-elimination bracket.
Four lower seeds also won on the second day to improve their record to 1-1 and still have a chance to advance to bracket play. Doane (Neb.) defeated No. 9 Lindenwood (Mo.) while Vanguard (Calif.) knocked off No. 4 Bellevue (Neb.), Black Hills State (S.D.) won against No. 12 Morningside (Iowa) and Lubbock Christian (Texas) survived against No. 11 Madonna (Mich.) in a five-game thriller.
