SIOUX CITY, Iowa – No. 4 Bellevue (Neb.) and Vanguard (Calif.) from Pool D advanced to the single-elimination bracket at the 29th Annual NAIA Volleyball National Championship.  Both teams posted a 2-1 pool play record but Vanguard wins the pool after winning the head-to-head matchup against Bellevue on Wednesday.

In today’s match Vanguard cruised to a three-game win over Doane (Neb.), 25-17, 25-20, 29-27.  Kelsey Wirt led the team with 17 kills and Heather Dejongh added 10 kills and 12 digs.  Alexandra Griffiths was the leader on defense with 19 digs.  Terra Andreasen led Doane with 14 kills.  The Tigers posted a 1-2 pool play record and end their season with a 28-10 overall record.

Four players reached double digits in kills to lead Bellevue to a win over Lindenwood (Mo.), 22-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-18.  Rachel Muller led the team with 13 kills while Jaclyn Thorson added 12 and Kali Schnacker recorded 11.  Leah Keller and Maureen Wardian each had 10 kills.  Ellen Fandry led Lindenwood with 12 kills.  The Lady Lions went 1-2 in the pool play and end their season with a 35-9 overall record.
