SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) defeated Vanguard (Calif.), 3-1, in the playoff round match to advance to the quarterfinals at the 2008 NAIA Volleyball National Championship.  The Sea Lions will face No. 3 Concordia (Calif.) today at 8:15 p.m.

After dropping the first game, 23-25, PLNU bounced back to take the next three, 25-18, 25-18 and 25-22.  The Sea Lions were led by Tabitha Henken with 14 kills and Zoe Beltz added 11 kills.  Melissa Boer had a team-high 20 digs while Jillian Doornbos recorded 18 digs.  Kylie Morel led the way with 24 assits.

Heather Dejongh led the match with 16 kills for Vangaurd and Kelsey Wirt added 12 kills.  Alexandra Griffiths had a match-high 24 digs.  The Lions will end their season with an 18-12 overall record.
