Simon Fraser is No. 1

Simon Fraser is No. 1

Oct. 24, 2007

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the fifth consecutive week, Simon Fraser (B.C.) is a unanimous No. 1.  The Clan receives all seven first-place votes and 210 total points in the NAIA Women's Cross Country Top 25 Poll to claim the top spot.  They have been the No. 1 team in every poll this season.  The team was idle last week but return to action at the BC Championships.

Milligan (Tenn.) is the No. 2 team again this week, receiving 200 total points.  Azusa Pacific comes in at third for the fifth week in a row, as the Cougars had 198 points.  Cedarville (Ohio) and Indiana Wesleyan round out the top five, earning 187 and 182 points respectively.

Three teams that were unranked last week jump into the Top 25.  No-one climbed further up the polls than Spring Arbor (Mich.), who soared all the way to No. 13.  The Lady Cougars finished second at the Mid-Central College Conference Championships, and were within one second of first place finisher Indiana Wesleyan.  The other new teams in the Top 25 are Westmont (Calif.) and Embry-Riddle (Fla.).

The next Top 25 Poll will be released on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
