KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Simon Fraser (B.C.) finishes the season right where they began. The Clan is No. 1 in this year's final NAIA Women's Cross Country Top 25 Poll. They have gone wire-to-wire as the top team, being ranked No. 1 in every poll this season. The team receives six first-place votes and 209 total points to fill the top spot. Over the past week, Simon Fraser won their fifth consecutive NAIA Region I Championship. Senior captain Kristen Kolstad won her second straight individual title and was named Region I Athlete of the Meet. Head coach Brit Townsend was honored as Region I Coach of the Year.
Cedarville (Ohio) jumps to No. 2 this week. After winning their third straight American Mideast Conference title, the Lady Jackets receive the final first-place vote and 199 total points. For the seventh consecutive week, Azusa Pacific (Calif.) comes in at No. 3. The Cougars receive 197 points after winning the Golden State Athletic Conference Women's Championship. Milligan (Tenn.) checks in at No. 4 with 192 points after the Lady Buffs won their fifth straight Appalachian Athletic Conference title over the weekend. Malone (Ohio) rounds out the top five, earning 173 points. The Pioneers finished second at the American Mideast Conference Women's Cross Country Championship.
There are two new teams in the Top 25 this week. St. Xavier (Ill.) comes in at No. 24 while Concordia (Calif.) fills the No. 25 slot. St. Xavier tied for first at the NAIA Region VII Regional Meet Concordia finished sixth at the NAIA Region II Cross Country Championships.
